THE MIDDLE ORANGE

The Middle Orange covers the area from Vanderkloof Dam to the Orange-Vaal confluence and includes the two largest dams in South Africa namely Gariep Dam and Vanderkloof Dam.   These two dams form the storage elements of the Orange River Project which is the largest water supply scheme in South Africa involving several major water transfers.
