Dr Dirk Roux, manager of the National Co-ordinating Team, with the two RHP bursars who attended the national short course on The role and use of biological monitoring in aquatic resource assessment, held in Grahamstown from the 12 - 16 February 2001. The bursars are Ms Tracy Singo of the University of Venda, and Mr Eric Mkanda, a landscape architect based in Pretoria.
Mick Angliss of the Department of Agriculture, Land and Environment in the Northern Province, informs delegates about the practicalities of biological monitoring using fish. Field demonstrations took place in the Thomas Baines Nature Reserve outside Grahamstown, using the Palmiet River as study site.
