World Water Monitoring Day (WWMD) is observed on 18 October each year to increase public awareness and
involvement in the protection of water quality around the world.
The Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (DWAF) has three broad focus areas for WWMD 2007, under the theme:
Get Smarter! Know Your Water!
The focus areas are:
- Mass Communications Campaign

enter and win R25,000!
If you are not a learner or educator, get any of your local secondary schools to participate.
Don’t forget to involve your local municipality.
