Mphephu |
|
As Safety Representative for the Duduza Spruit Storm Water Project, Portia
Mphephu not only played a vital role in insuring the long term safety of the community from the danger
of flooding, but also helped to administer community job creation and participation. The erection of temporary homeswithin the flood lines in some areas in Tembisa had lead to
serious problems such as drowning and loss of property. Ms Mphephu's work on the storm water project that ensured the 1.5km channelling of the Duduza Spruit was central to
addressing this.
