The Departmentof Water Afairs and Forestry is puting in place a coherent
plan for the afforestation project in the Eastern Cape to effect the
afforestation of an estimated 60 000 hectares of land. The project will
contribute R150 million per annum to the Eastern Cape economy with estimated
benefits spreading to 120 000 households representing 600 000 people.
Public meetings for interested and affected stakeholders will be held
where consultants will unpack the results of the first scoping report.
