Welcome to the Local Government Support Knowledge Bank (LGSKB)

The purpose of the LGSKB is to provide members of the DWAF Local Government Support `cadre’ – officials across the Department with a passion for high quality, sustainable service delivery to every community -- with an easy-to-access site within which they can deposit and retrieve practical knowledge and information to assist themselves and others as they work to support Water Services Authorities.

The LGSKB plays host to the experience developed by members of the DWAF LGS cadre across a broad spectrum of support initiatives funded by the department, and is intended to not only strengthen institutional memory, but also to provide a safe learning and sharing space for LGS cadres. While the LGSKB is intended primarily for internal use, external stakeholders will benefit from relevant content. Easy links to a variety of related knowledge sites, including the Masibambane homepage, WIN-SA, the RIC and the OSS Knowledge Base (under development) have been provided for ease of reference.

As the Water Sector Leader, DWAF is highly committed to the promotion of knowledge sharing. The LGS Knowledge Sharing initiative with the LGSKB as a cornerstone is more exciting evidence of this commitment!
