DATABASES

Open-NGDB

The National Groundwater Database (NGDB) presently populated with in excess 225 000 borehole records across the country. 

The spatial distribution of borehole records and some metadata on this database are also available.

A data quality auditing project was conducted on the data stored in NGDB and data from Eastern Cape, Gauteng province,  Vryburg, Kimberley, Pietersburg, Upington, Springbok, Prieska, Bloemfontein, Durban, Vryheid, Kroonstad, Beaufort West, Cape Town, Keetmanshoop and Alldays. 

Basic data from Eastern Cape is available for download.

WMS

The National Water Quality Database (QUALDB)  containing over 55 000 analyses of groundwater samples, mostly of macro elements, has been recently replaced with Water Management System (WMS). Data from the National Groundwater Quality Monitoring Network is included.

PLAN

PLAN is a database that contains all in-house technical reports.  The most recent information can be downloaded.
